Knights Alumni Announcement
The Knights pulled it off in 87….can they do it one last time???
2010 saw the launch of an exciting one off project. That the Knights would once again grace the current Drum Corps arena to remind today's Drum Corps audience of the yesteryear iconic sights and sounds. Dagenham succeeded in 2009 so The Knights should be able to achieve it 2010.
A promising start ended quite abruptly mid year, but a group of people still believed in the project and could not let the opportunity pass without giving it another go.
The Knights heritage will be showcased at DCUK and DCE finals this year.
This is a call to arms, a call to all sections - brass, drums, pit and guard.
Represent The Knights, portray The Knights how you would want them portrayed on the Drum Corps field for one last time. The ONLY commitment required now are 3 weekend rehearsals and 2 weekend shows through September. This will be a concert performance only, NO DRILL. By October you'll be back to your normal life.
This is a request to all former Knights and anyone who wants take part in this historic event. The next rehearsal will be on August Bank Holiday Monday at The Southern Aurora Hut, Warren Road, Woodingdean. to recreate that sound just one more time. Starts at 9am finishes at 5pm.

Hornline complete music book - Drums play Zenda!
April 25th - The hornline have now completed the full music book for the 2010 show. It was also great to see the drumline play through part of Prisoner of Zenda with the hornline to an audience of corps members, friends and family on Sunday.
Drumline coming on a storm!
The drumline has been quietly (or not) beavering away with more old and new faces making an appearance weekly. Drum music scored so far includes Prisoner of Zenda and Sambandrea Swing. More Drumline Photos here >>Steve Cole appointed to drum major staff

Steven is a great addition to the team, with his experience, attitude and commitment he will be a driving force in delivering the on and off field programme. Steve will be involved in rehearsals as soon as practical during his rehabilitation form having a brain tumour removed in December 2009. We wish Steve all the best in both his role as drum major and to a speedy recovery.
Steven said:
"It is with great honour that I take up this role. There are not many who have had the privilege of leading the Knights. Being involved in the Knights is a once in a life time opportunity for many and a dream for most. For the 2010 Knights it is a reality and to able to play three of the Knights Iconic show pieces is really fulfilling, if not humbling. We stand on the shoulders of giants and that is what gives us strength to do this great event, we will never let them down, FOR WE ARE ALL KNIGHTS!"
I would like to welcome Steve on board, he will be a valuable addition to this fantastic adventure that is "The Knights Alumni 2010".

Hot Dog Sunday Draws a Crowd!

The Knights were rehearsing throughout the day and had some great support from family and friends. Great to see so many old faces! The money raised from the day will go towards The Knights Alumni uniform for our exhibition performances at the DCUK and DCE Championships later this year. The Knights Alumni 2010
Having now had our first successful rehearsal and some time to reflect upon it I thought I would like to write to you all and explain the year ahead.
Firstly let me thank all of you who attended for making it a success, hearing Zenda again after all these years brought back many happy memories. I know you all have lots of questions and as we progress they will all be answered.
Prisoner of Zenda
The Knights Alumni - Prisoner of Zenda
Recorded at first rehearsal - 17/1/10
Brass, percussion, guard and visual staff are all now in place. We will be adding to this list over the coming weeks and will introduce new staff as they are appointed, but it is all ready a strong set up that will allow us to produce a strong Corps.
I want to give you my thoughts on the aims for the Knights in 2010, as you are all aware in our prime we were considered one of the top corps in the UK. I want us to recreate that feeling again and produce a corps that is professional in everything it does and have people looking forward in anticipation to us performing, and more importantly leave feeling they have witnessed something special that they will remember for a long time to come.
Lastly I want to make this promise to you that we will have a fun and a rewarding year together, to have lots of fun and laughter along the way and at the end of it produce a Corps that we can be proud of and that lives up to the well earned reputation of the Knights.
Thank you all again for helping to make a personal dream a reality.
Yours,
Colin Baker
